Professor Ragsdale taught at the UW from 1960 until his retirement in 1982 and was perhaps the most popular teacher ever on the faculty. He oversaw the creation of the Specialized Reporting MA Program in 1967. He was also a distinguished journalist and a foreign correspondent during World War II.
