Wisconsin School of Business BBA Scholarships - Direct Admit & Pre-Business Freshmen

The information on this page is specific to High School applicants that have been admitted as first-year students to the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The following is informational only. No action or application is required for incoming Freshmen to be considered for scholarships from the Undergraduate Business Program.

Information for Direct Admit Freshmen to Business

  • High School applicants that have been admitted to UW-Madison and as Direct Admit to the Wisconsin School of Business Undergraduate Program do not need to submit a scholarship application to be considered for scholarship awards administered by the School of Business. A general WiSH application is recommended to be considered for other University awards, but no preference is shown for Business scholarship awarding if a WiSH general application is on-file.
  • Award assignments are based on a holistic review that includes merit, financial need, and information collected from the application review. Because not all awards are need-based, a FAFSA is not required to be considered for Business Scholarships, but is recommended in order to be considered for the most number of individual awards. Students who are not able to fill out the FAFSA are still eligible to receive funds.
  • Early Action admits will be notified of awards via e-mail in February, no later than March 1.
Regular Decision admits will be notified of awards via e-mail in late March, no later than April 15.

Information for enrolling Pre-Business Freshmen

  • There are no scholarships available for incoming Freshmen admitted to UW-Madison as Pre-Business students from the Wisconsin School of Business. Pre-Business students interested in applying into the School of Business as upperclassmen will be required to fill out the Pre-Business scholarship application available through WiSH in February of the term they intend to apply for admission into the School of Business.
  • Award assignments based on a holistic review that includes merit, financial need, and information collected from the application review. Because not all awards are need-based, a FAFSA is not required, but is recommended in order to be considered for the most number of individual awards. Students who are not able to fill out the FAFSA are still eligible to receive funds.

Other Awards through the University of Wisconsin
Incoming Freshmen are strongly encouraged to complete a General Application on the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) for scholarship consideration by units across campus. By filling out a General Application, you will be automatically considered for some awards, and others will be eligible for you to search on.

  • Submission of a WiSH General Application is required annually.
  • Applicants are encouraged to review this site for other University awards outside the School of Business.
