Churchill Scholarship
Established in 1959, the Winston Churchill Foundation offers American students of exceptional accomplishment the opportunity to study mathematics, engineering, or the sciences at the graduate level, at Cambridge University.
Eligibility Criteria
National scholarship funding 1 year of graduate study in math, science or engineering at Churchill College, Cambridge University.
Apply as a senior or recent graduate between the ages of 19 and 26. Must be a US citizen or national, have an undergraduate GPA of 3.8 or above, and attain a bachelor’s degree (but not a doctorate) before the scholarship begins. Strong applicants have extensive research experience, 4 strong letters of recommendation, and plan to pursue a PhD, MD or MD/PhD.
How to Apply
Candidates must be nominated by UW-Madison to compete nationally. To be considered for nomination, submit all application materials to the UAA Office by the campus deadline. UW-Madison may nominate 2 students/year to compete for approximately 13 scholarships.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria: academic achievement; the ability to contribute to mathematics, engineering, or the sciences; outstanding personal qualities; strong GRE or MCAT scores.
Award Information
The scholarship covers tuition, fees and living stipend for one year of graduate study at Churchill College, Cambridge University. At least 13 scholarships are awarded annually.
