Ginsberg Family Awards

Established by Mr. Harvey “Bud” Meyerhoff, a successful businessman, philanthropist and 1948 graduate of UW-Madison, the Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards honor students who combine academic achievement with leadership and service to campus and/or community.


Eligibility Criteria
A $1,000 cash prize for upperclassmen who have made outstanding leadership and service contributions to the University and/or the surrounding communities while maintaining a record of academic excellence.
Must be a junior or senior currently enrolled at UW-Madison. Recipients are selected by 22 academic and student affairs organizations.

Recipients are selected by 22 academic and student affairs organizations, including the schools/colleges and student governance. The awarding organizations are listed below. Each organization has its own application and selection process.

Award Information
Each year 26 awards of $1,000 are given.


Conditions of Award
Recipients are honored at a luncheon at the end of the spring semester, attended by family, friends, and our benefactor, Harvey “Bud” Meyerhoff.
