The Ann Hengstenberg Memorial Prize Fund is awarded annually to an undergraduate student with financial need in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Eligibility Criteria
Only School of Journalism and Mass Communication majors are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The application to apply for this and all other School of Journalism and Mass Communication scholarships is open the first two weeks of every December. It is the intent of the donors that the fund be awarded to the best undergraduate student specializing in magazine journalism. Preference in selection shall be given to a female student in recognition of Ann Hengstenberg’s efforts and commitment to affirmatively securing equal rights for women in business journalism.


Donor Information
Joel B. and Mary Hengstenberg Grossman established this scholarship in memory of Mrs. Grossman’s sister, Ann Hengstenberg. Ann was a member of the staff of Fortune magazine for 27 years and a promoter of women’s rights in journalism.
