Candice Wentlandt Memorial Scholarship

The Candice Wentlandt Memorial Scholarship was established by her family. Candice was a five-year member of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band and earned her B.S. in Special Education in 2012. After graduation she went on to become a Cross Categorical teacher at Kennedy Elementary School in Madison where she was a tireless advocate for her students. She was pursuing a master’s degree in the School of Education at the time of her death in 2016.


Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship shall be awarded to undergraduates in the School of Education. First preference shall be given to members of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band enrolled in Special Education and second preference to members of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band enrolled in the School of Education. If no eligible marching band students apply, the scholarship may be awarded to any undergraduate student enrolled in Special Education. Financial need shall not be a determining factor in the award of this scholarship. However, students should be in good academic standing with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and have demonstrated good academic progress.
