A. Gertrude Anthony Scholarship
The A. Gertrude Anthony Scholarship was established by a bequest from A. Gertrude Anthony. Ms. Anthony graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in 1899 and went on to serve as a social worker in Alameda, California. The scholarships are to be used to assist the University of Wisconsin in preparing better teachers.
Junior or senior women in teacher certification programs who show great promise as teachers. At least 24 credits must be on the Madison campus. Awards are based on past and current academic excellence and potential to be an outstanding teacher, as seen in a personal statement written by the applicant; special consideration will be given to women 25 and older.
