College of Engineering Scholarships - Direct Admit Freshmen

Information for Direct Admit Freshmen Students to the College of Engineering

• All high school students directly admitted as freshmen to the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are automatically considered for scholarships. There is no scholarship application to complete. If you are selected, you will be notified via email from the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH).

• Early Action admits will be notified of awards via e-mail in late February, no later than March 1.
• Regular Decision admits will be notified of awards via e-mail in late March, no later than April 15.

• We have a variety of scholarships available to incoming students, with varying eligibility criteria and priorities. To learn more about the specific opportunities, please visit: https://engineering.wisc.edu/admissions/scholarships/.

• Scholarship offers are based on a holistic review that includes merit, financial need, and information collected from the admissions application review. Because not all awards are need-based, a FAFSA is not required to be considered for College of Engineering Scholarships, but is recommended in order to be considered for the most number of individual awards. To be considered for CoE scholarships that consider financial need, please complete the FAFSA by the UW-Madison priority deadline of December 1.

Other Scholarships through the University of Wisconsin- Madison
Incoming Admitted Freshmen are also strongly encouraged to complete a General Application on the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) to learn about scholarship opportunities from units across campus outside of the College of Engineering. By filling out a General Application, you will be shown additional scholarships you may be eligible for, which may require an additional application.
