Kikkoman Environmental Studies Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria
The purpose of this scholarship award is to provide financial support to undergraduate students in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies.

Students who are planning to participate in domestic, for-credit “study away” programs (e.g., Wisconsin in Washington Program; https://studyabroad.wisc.edu/program/?programId=626 or the Wild Rockies Field Institute; https://www.wrfi.net) are encouraged to apply.

Student applicants must be enrolled in and actively pursuing one of the following Nelson Institute programs: 1) Undergraduate Certificate in Environmental Studies, 2) Undergraduate Major in Environmental Studies.

Per the wishes of the donor, student applicants who are residents of Walworth County will be given special consideration for this scholarship.

Student applicants must be in good academic standing, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Student applicants must be at least one full academic year away from graduation. Students in their final year of studies are INELIGIBLE to apply.

Donor Information
Scholarship recipients are required to write a thank you letter to Mr. Milton Neshek of Kikkoman Foods and are expected to coordinate with the Nelson Institute’s Director of Advancement & Donor Relations regarding these letters. Scholarship recipients may also be offered the opportunity to meet Mr. Neshek.

Award Information
One $3,000 scholarship is available to be awarded to an undergraduate student during the Spring 2019 scholarship competition.

Applicants will be notified of their selection in April 2019 and will be formally recognized on Thursday, 2 May 2019 at the Nelson Institute’s Spring Commencement Celebration and Recognition Ceremony.
