Virginia Schumacher Orton Student Award in Economics

The Virginia Schumacher Orton Student Award in Economics provides funding to an undergraduate majoring in Economics, with a preference for students from rural areas.

Dianne Orton and Sandra Turner have established the Virginia Schumacher Orton Student Award in Economics in memory of their mother. Virginia Schumacher Orton graduated in 1944 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
