John J. Walsh Scholarship

The John J. Walsh Scholarship was established by the family and friends of John. J. Walsh, who received his bachelor of laws degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1938. The scholarship celebrates Mr. Walsh’s service to the legal profession, and to the athletic program at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as boxing coach from 1933 to 1958, leading the Wisconsin boxing team to eight team championships. The John J. Walsh Scholarship supports students who lettered in intercollegiate athletics at their undergraduate college, with a strong preference for UW-Madison athletes.
