SoE Lois E. Hack Study Abroad Scholarship

Pending annual renewal, this scholarship is available to UW-Madison undergraduate students pursuing degrees in the School of Education who are studying abroad on an International Academic Programs (IAP) study abroad program. Any School of Education undergraduate, including students in “pre” status (e.g., pre-Elementary Education, pre-Kinesiology), or students earning the Certificate in Education Policy Studies or the Certificate in Education and Educational Services are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to applicants for whom this would be their first study abroad experience, as well as for students participating on a program in Africa, Asia, or Latin America. Applicant must be in the process of applying, or have already applied, to an International Academic Program (IAP) study abroad program for Spring 2019 or Calendar Year 2019.

Applicant must be in the process of applying, or have already applied, to an International Academic Program (IAP) study abroad program for Spring 201, or Calendar Year 2019.


How to Apply
Application is open NOW! The deadline is October 15, 2018. If your study abroad program application isn’t required to be complete until after this date, you must still submit your scholarship application by this date to be considered. However, you must already be in the process of applying to your program by October 15, 2018 in order to be eligible for this scholarship. Incomplete scholarship applications or applications submitted to the office will not be considered. Award Information
One $3000 scholarship will be awarded.


Conditions of Award
Completion of the study abroad program is a requirement of the scholarship. In addition, recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter for the donor.
