FIGs Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship is available to degree-seeking UW-Madison Freshman undergraduate students who are studying abroad on a First Year Interest Groups (FIGs) program through International Academic Programs (IAP). Applicant must be in the process of applying, or have already applied, to the UW Ceiba Rainforest and Coral Reefs FIG Field Expedition in Ecuador study abroad program for Winter Intersession 2018-19.

Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is available to degree-seeking UW-Madison Freshman undergraduate students who are studying abroad on a First Year Interest Group (FIGs) program through International Academic Programs (IAP). Applicant must be currently enrolled in the Rainforest and Coral Reefs FIG course on the UW-Madison campus.

Application Process
Application is open NOW! The deadline is October 15, 2018. If your study abroad program application isn’t required to be complete until after this date, you must still submit your scholarship application by this date to be considered. However, you must already be in the process of applying to your program by October 15, 2018 in order to be eligible for this scholarship. Incomplete scholarship applications or applications submitted to the office will not be considered. Award Information
This award is made possible by contributions from UW-Madison departments, staff and alumni who value the benefits of study abroad and are committed to making this opportunity available to first year undergraduate students. The scholarships are intended to support students enrolled in FIGs (First-Year Interest Groups), reinforcing their interdisciplinary academic experiences as they take learning out of the traditional classroom and into the world. Award amount varies pending annual renewal.

Conditions of Award
Completion of the study abroad program is a requirement of the scholarship. In addition, recipients are required to submit a thank-you letter for the donor.
