Rich Thomas Scholarship Fund

The Rich Thomas Scholarship Fund provides one-time awards to first year students pursuing a degree from the College of Letters & Science. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need, be a first generation college student, and have graduated from a high school in Wisconsin. There is a donor preference to award students who are committed to the support of others through service to their communities.

Completed applications are evaluated using donor criteria, College of Letters & Science criteria, and well written essays. In addition, scholarships with a financial need component require a completed FAFSA form on file with UW-Madison. Students who are not current recipients of Letters & Science multi-year scholarships are given priority.

Apply for the College of Letters & Science Scholarships Application for Current First Year Students by using your campus NetID and password and clicking on the “Sign In” button on the top-right corner of this screen.

Student financial aid packages can be impacted by scholarship awards. It is recommended that students contact UW’s Office of Student Financial Aid to learn about impact on current aid packages.
