Schweitzer Family Scholarship Fund

The Schweitzer Family wishes to assist the Department of Communication Arts in recognizing outstanding undergraduate majors continuing in the fall by awarding student scholarships. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Preference will be given to students coming from an underserved urban, rural or farming community. The scholarship is distributed in the fall and may affect students’ existing financial aid packages.

As part of the application, students are asked to provide a brief description of their financial need. Applications are due Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Please note that if you are awarded a Schweitzer Family Scholarship in Communication Arts, the Communication Arts Department will share your name, home address, academic year, and the information provided in your application with the Schweitzer Family and the UW Foundation. Your name may also be listed in communications to the general public, such as the Comm Arts website.
