WSB Trusted to Lead Fund
The Wisconsin School of Business is excited to provide the Trusted to Lead Scholarship.
This significant four-year award is for new incoming first-year students offered Direct Admission to the Undergraduate Business Program.
The award is selective, and submissions to the required questions are due by the deadline below.
Strong applicants will:
- Show an elevated potential for leadership growth as a student within the Undergraduate Business Program. This potential may be demonstrated through one or a combination of personal reflection, employment experience, group project work, organized athletics, community involvement, or student organization participation.
- Possess enthusiasm and curiosity for the ways collaboration and project teams can impact real-world issues by exploring innovative solutions.
- Articulate an internalized passion for Business beyond a surface interest.
Earning this scholarship is an acknowledgement of leadership skills and potential. As a Business Badger, it is expected that you continue your leadership development journey by participating in the following programs, which are coordinated & sponsored by the Undergraduate Business Program:
- Leadership Mindsets in Motion. Students will engage in a series of six interactive, skill-building sessions focused on entrepreneurial, inclusive, and tenacious mindsets. Each session combines core concepts with practical activities, peer coaching, and real-world challenges Students will experience this with a cohort, so we expect you to sign up and participate in this within your first year.
- Accenture Leadership Lab. Within a flexible structure, students will deepen their leadership acumen and embody the traits of a trusted leader. You can earn this lab by completing the Leadership Mindsets in Motion series, participating in four approved experiential learning opportunities, and engaging in a leadership coaching session. We expect you to complete this lab by the end of your second year.
Additional Signature Experiences offered by the Undergraduate Business Program
- Leadership at Lambeau (by completing the workshop series and lab above, awardees are guaranteed a spot for this 3-day signature program that provides access to a variety of industry professionals, including leaders from the Green Bay Packers organization)
- School of Business Case Competitions
- Career Trek immersive site visits
- Traditional or short-term study abroad experiences
Eligibility to Apply:
- Incoming first-year student offered Direct Admission to Undergraduate Business
- February 1: Application available
- February 28: Priority Deadline
- March 31: Final Deadline
Scholarship Value:
- Four-Year Renewable Scholarship
- One-half (50%) cost of tuition and fees. Value will increase if tuition and/or fees increase over the four-year lifespan
Renewal Requirements:
- Maintain enrollment in a major within the Undergraduate Business Program
- Maintain good academic standing within the Undergraduate Business Program (2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale)
- Fulfillment of leadership development milestones as outlined above
- Attend the annual Thank-a-Donor banquet (Fall term)

- I understand that I must ultimately be admitted as a Direct Admit to the Undergraduate Business Program for next Fall to be eligible to receive this award. (must select "I understand" to be eligible)
- Essay 1: Identify a recent experience where you were part of a group or team with each member having a different role or talent. Define your role and what was expected of you. How did the group navigate a specific challenge or hurdle (external or internal) towards reaching its goal? Reflect on how you have personally grown as a result of participating in this experience. (500 word max)
- Essay 2: Businesses continuously explore unique or innovative solutions, often through project teams that bring together different specialties and experiences. Identify a real-world opportunity that you are passionate about and assemble your hypothetical four-person team. Define the roles of your team, your own role, and explain your reasoning. Identify one critical value for the team to embrace in order to achieve its goal. (500 word max)

- The Trusted to Lead Scholarship is connected to the tuition line of a student’s cost of attendance, and is intended to support students with a four-year scholarship valued at one-half tuition and fees. A pre-existing scholarship offer from Business, or other financial need-based support, will likely be reduced or fully replaced if offered this scholarship.
