Civil Society & Community Research Conference Travel/Professional Development Support Scholarship (CSCR)

Description
The Civil Society & Community Research (CSCR) PhD program is offering two types of awards to CSCR graduate students: travel awards for those invited to present at professional conferences, and professional development awards for those pursuing professional development activities. The purpose of these awards is to encourage participation in professional development and scholarly research and support the coverage of expenses not covered by other sources. Students may receive a scholarship of up to $1000 for conference travel and or professional development activities.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a CSCR PhD student in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress
  • Must be attending a scholarly or professional conference or professional development activity

Open Application Period:
Applications will be accepted until scholarship funds are depleted. Until then, applications will be reviewed when received.

Application Materials:

  • If you are applying for conference travel funding, then you will need to download and complete the following application form in Box (https://uwmadison.app.box.com/file/1031455200968?s=v8h622tjcxyq6vc7u9r92rguxh6areed)
  • If you are applying for professional development funding, then you will need to upload a document or PDF to the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub containing the following:
    - an itemized budget
    - a brief justification describing expenses and why these items are needed
    - and a brief statement of how this professional development opportunity will support your growth as a scholar and professional
