Stephen R. and Patricia A. Diercks

Stephen Diercks ‘70 and Patricia Diercks ’70 live in Coloma, WI where Steve is the President of Coloma Farms, Inc., a potato farm he runs with their son, Andy Diercks ’93. Steve studied Agricultural Economics and Pat studied Economics. She worked as a loan processor for BMO Harris Bank and also as an accountant, while Steve has cultivated a close relationship with the Agronomy and Soils departments at UW-Madison to aid in funding and testing cutting edge research on potato farming practices. They routinely participate in field trials and have an observation facility for the university on their property. Coloma Farms sells to McCain’s French Fries and Frito Lay. Andy studied Agricultural Engineering, and has helped grow the farm in response to an increased interest in sustainability and water management. Steve and Andy are both active members of the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA).
