Nona A. Prestine
Dr. Nona Prestine ’88 attended and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Marinette and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. After earning her teaching degree, Nona began her teaching career in Oconto, WI, and later moved to Whitewater, WI to teach middle school. Deciding to earn her PhD, Nona enrolled at the University of Wisconsin- Madison where she graduated with a PhD major in Educational Administration from the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis with a minor in Educational Psychology and Curriculum & Instruction. In 1989, Nona was awarded the American Educational Research Association Division A Outstanding Dissertation Award. After graduation, Nona moved to Champaign-Urbana where she taught at the University of Illinois; however, she was later recruited by Penn State University where she taught in the University’s Department of Education and Leadership for 21 years.
