Dr. Murray and Susan Katcher

Susan Katcher and her husband, Dr. Murray Katcher, share meaningful connections to UW–Madison. Susan attended the UW Law School, while Murray earned his doctorate in chemistry and completed his medical training at UW–Madison. Murray served for many years as a chief medical officer with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and as a pediatrician in the General Pediatrics and Teenage Clinic at UW Clinics. Through his work in patient care, teaching and research, he contributed to critical public health issues affecting people in Wisconsin and beyond.

Susan established the Dr. Murray and Susan Katcher Endowed Scholarship Fund to honor Murray’s longstanding commitment to public health and help carry that work forward. By encouraging future physicians and nurses to expand their public health knowledge, Susan hopes to help prepare clinical professionals to address important health challenges and continue a legacy that meant so much to Murray.
