Donald and Nancy Field

This scholarship recognizes and pays tribute to the lifework and legacy of Donald R. Field, who was a graduate of the College and was an Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Associate Director of the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station, Director, School of Natural Resources and a faculty member in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology. He earned his BS in 193 and an MS in 1965 in Rural Sociology. It further pays tribute to the lifework and legacy of Nancy Hayden Field, a 1963 graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Natural Science Education who received a Kemper K. Knapp Scholarship all four years of her undergraduate years. Nancy was a cheerleader from 1961-63, including the 1963 Rose Bowl, and in later years an active participant in College organizations and projects such as the Daughters of Demeter and University League. She is the author and publisher of children’s nature books.
