Daryl B. and Dawn K. Lund

Daryl Lund ’63, MS ’65, PhD ’68 and Dawn Lund reside in Cottage Grove, WI. Daryl and Dawn met at the Memorial Union at the UW-Madison campus. Daryl majored in Mathematics, Dairy & Food Industry, and in Food Science. Daryl has worked in Food Engineering at UW-Madison, Cornell, and Rutgers. Daryl has written over 200 publications in scientific journals, edited five books, and co-authored one major textbook. Daryl is the former Executive Director of the North Central Association of Agricultural Experiment Station Directors. Daryl has served on the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Campaign Planning Committee. They love to travel, enjoy reading, and especially like to meet people. The Lunds have been married for almost 50 years and raised two remarkable children together, Kristine and Eric. The Lunds both experienced the opportunity to attend UW-Madison. When they were in a financial position to “pay it forward”, they established student awards. Had it not been for federal loans, Daryl could not have afforded attending UW-Madison and ultimately would not have met Dawn at the Memorial Union. With the rising cost of education, the Lunds want to assist in making a quality education at UW-Madison available. They are especially grateful that they can give back through student support.
