Claude and Dora Richardson

Claude Richardson was a cost analyst and engineer for Bell Telephone Company. After earning his degree in electrical engineering from UW-Madison in 1922, he worked for Bell in Chicago, IL, later relocating to New Jersey, NJ, and then living in Pasadena, CA when he was reassigned by Pacific Bell to North Los Angeles, CA. His interests included the Badgers, the L.A. Dodgers, tennis, golf, and in retirement he took up painting.

Dora Richardson was born June 30, 1903 in Ferron, Utah. After graduating from Wasatach Academy in Manti, Utah she moved to Chicago, IL where she met her husband, Claude Richardson. Dora worked as a secretary for California Institute of Technology for several years. Golf and bridge were her passions.

Claude was married to Dora Richardson for more than 60 years. Claude died in 1993, and Dora died in 1999. They created the Claude and Dora Richardson Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowship Fund to support graduate student fellowships in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UW-Madison.
