Adel B. Korkor

Adel B. Korkor, ‘74; MD; Damascus University is a retired nephrologist and has worked at Nephrology Associates, Fort Atkinson Dialysis Center, and was CEO of Purity Dialysis Centers. He is the founder of the mental health-focused Adel B. Korkor, M.D. Foundation and is active as a photographer through his company, Adel Korkor Photography. He created the children’s book “Being Different is Special” using his photography collection. Previously, he performed clinical research in nephrology at Washington University School of Medicine’s Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and served as an assistant professor of medicine of nephrology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Adel is a member of the Hemocleanse, Inc. Board of Directors, member of the Ash Access Technology Board of Directors, and member of Photographic Society of America. He is a former member of the Zurex Pharma Board of Directors. They have contributed philanthropically to The Womens Center Inc., University Lake School Inc., and Wisconsin Public Radio Association. Adel organized the Five Fifty Fifty Run/Walk Series through his foundation to address the epidemic of mental health problems and the series was for Adel 5k race in all 50 states in 50 days in 2018. He has noted that he began running as part of his treatment for improving his own mental health. His interests include traveling, photography, and running. Adel and his wife, Mary live on a hobby farm in Delafield, WI. They have four children: Amira Korkor, Bishara Korkor, Ramzi Korkor, and Yara Korkor.
